1. Stainless Steel Wire Mesh

Iron wire meshes are often coated for rust and corrosion resistance, although many businesses prefer to buy it uncoated in bulk. They are also slightly cheaper than stainless steel meshes, but don’t have the visual appeal of those.

4.  PVC Coated Wire Mesh
PVC coated wire mesh are originally made of steel or aluminum wire mesh, then coated with PVC to make it look attractive. These PVC coatings also make them rust and corrosion proof, although it cannot be guaranteed and depends on the type of coat done. They are usually used for decorative purposes and small-scale scenarios such as window screens, machine guards, automobile guards and many more.

5. Aluminum Wire Mesh
Aluminum is a highly versatile that can be a good replacement for steel wire meshes depending on the condition. Aluminum is a cheaper and lighter, but it also lacks the strength of steel. This makes aluminum good for low strength applications such as farm fencing, garden fencing, cages, and other such applications. Aluminum typically won’t be able to weather harsh storms, summers and winters, so they are best used for indoor applications or temporary outdoor applications.

Types of High Temperature Conveyor Belts and Their Applications

Conveyor belts are used in all kinds of industrial scenarios that involve hauling goods or components from one area to another within a production or manufacturing plant. Unlike other means of transportation, conveyor belts act as connecting mechanisms between different kinds of machines, such that items that come out from one machine can be directly and seamlessly transported to another machine.

Different kinds of jobs require different kinds of conveyor belts. For example, industries that deal with manufacture of brittle or breakable products will require a solid base conveyor belt for maximum stability between machine transportation, whereas industries dealing with heavy loads such as ore transport or metal production will require very strong mesh conveyor belts for maximum load bearing capacity.

Regardless of load capacity, our main point of discussion is high temperature conveyor belt. These are conveyor belts that are qualified for working at high temperatures; not necessarily working in hot areas, but lifting and transporting hot items. They are more hardened than regular conveyor belts, and are generally made of steel with heat resistant coatings.

Heat resistant conveyor belts have high tensile strength and robust construction that gives them their heat resisting capacity, in addition to being non-corrosive. Depending on the range of temperatures handled, they generally come in 3 variants:

HR-T1 Grade
HR stands for heat resistant, and it is the bare minimum grade required for transport of heated and hot materials. They can resist temperatures ranging from 257 degrees Fahrenheit to 356 degrees Fahrenheit approximately. Actual range can be more or less depending on the manufacturer. They are usually employed in chemical, plastic and paper manufacturing plants to handle hot chemicals, plastic pellets and paper pulp respectively. They are also used in normal industries situated in hot areas where the heat comes from surrounding room temperatures, not from the actual material handled.

SHR-T2 Grade
SHR stands for super heat resistant, and it forms the middle ground between 3 grades of heat resistant conveyor belts. Their temperature resistant capacity ranges from 300 degrees Fahrenheit to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. As they provide better heat resistance than HR-T1 grades, they are used for handling very hot raw materials such as hot cement powder in its raw form, hot chemicals, very hot fertilizers and so on, as long as the temperature of the material on the belt falls between the specified range of the belt.

UHR-T3 Grade
UHR stands for ultra-heat resistant, making it the top tier variant of heat resistant conveyor belts. Although they have a standard temperature resistance range of 400 to 500 degree Fahrenheit, many firms that manufacture conveyor belts can make custom belts with even higher temperature resistance limits. They 
are generally used to transport very hot, often boiling materials, not directly but kept on top of containers. They can handle any material that falls between their specific temperature limit they are designed for. Ultra-heat resistant belts are usually employed in cement industries, mineral processing industries and chemical manufacturing plants.
